KHADRAH ALI

Khadrah Ali's brother, Jama Arab, 39, was detained in Bradenton, Fl. upon returning to the United States from a vacation cruise to the Cayman Islands. Jama is a Somalian citizen but was born in Yemen. He has been in the United States since he was 16 years old. Jama had moved to the United Stated to get away from the war in Somalia that had taken the lives of many of his family members, including his father. At the time of his arrest, Jama was the primary caregiver for his 72-year-old diabetic mother. He was cleared of all terrorist charges and released from prison a year after he was arrested. Jamaís green card has been rescinded, and he must now check in with the Department of Homeland Security each month.
